How could the NY Times have increased their total circulation by 75% in one year? Surely this is funny accounting. Perhaps they are counting print subscribers as also digital subscribers, i.e., counting those people twice, since they changed their paywall policy recently.

Thanks, John. It is because they started the digital paywall. People who previously got the NY Times for free by reading it on the web now have to pay for it, though the price (at least initially) isn't particularly high.
